2007 Vacation in New Mexico |
We left Fort Worth on Saturday, 6/23/2007 for Guymon, OK to pick up Valerie.
Heath was not able to go with us due to being already enrolled for a class
for his Miner's license in Oklahoma City on the 25th. Heath & Val took
Gabe & Scott hunting in Guymon the afternoon of the 24th, they really
enjoyed it! On Sunday, we left for Angel Fire, NM. We rented a 2 bedroom condo.
We didn't spend very much time in Angel Fire because there isn't anything
to do there in the summertime. On Monday the 25th (our 30th Wedding Anniversary!)
we went to Red River and rented ATV's. It was really fun, and really dirty!!
We were able to ride approx. 2 1/2 hours around the mountains there. The pictures
don't do the hills and valleys justice -- I was only able to take pictures
when there were areas open enough for me to stop. On Tuesday the 26th, we
went "whitewater" rafting down the Rio Grande just south of Taos.
I use "whitewater" loosely, it was really very tame and we really
didn't get very wet. Tubing down the Guadalupe in New Braunfels, TX is much
more exhilarating! We left Angel Fire at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday the 27th and
took Valerie back to Guymon and finally arrived home in Fort Worth approx.
10:00 p.m. Wednesday night. We had fun and it was great to have all 3 kids
with us on this trip and to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary with us.
