Breckenridge, Colorado

June 7 - 13, 2003

We left Fort Worth Saturday morning at 3:30 a.m.CST and arrived in Breckenridge at 6:00 p.m. CST, grateful it wasn't a longer trip! Here are a few pictures of our trip and the adventures we had while in Colorado. The photographer only had a 35 mm camera with no zoom lens so please excuse the quality of the pictures!!

Here's a few pictures of Breckenridge!
Yes, there was still snow!!

Horseback Riding
American Safari Ranch
Fairplay, Colorado

We had a great time! They are voted the best in Colorado and we agree!! No trail rides here -- you get to ride where you want and how fast you want! No nose to tail. They have half-day or whole day rides as well. You also get to grill hamburgers after the ride is over. Other amenities I won't name here.  If you're interested their website is: www.americansafariranch.com

Roy and Val -- She obliged to wear the helmet because she would rather live than be superman.

Left: The head of Scott's horse -- Val and Gabe. Val's horse HAD to have a drink.
Gabe had to go after her before the horse would stop drinking!

Scott and his horse always seemed to be off on their own!

After horseback riding, the 3 men grilled our hamburgers. Dad was ecstatic!!
He hadn't been able to grill in over a week!!

In between Breckenridge & Fairplay, is the Continental Divide

Only one person liked having his picture made here -- guess who??!!

Idaho Springs, Colorado
Clear Creek

The water was snow just 24 hours before we were rafting in it. It sure felt like it! We had the best time ever!

Snowboarding!
Arapahoe Basin, Colorado

Or A-Basin as everyone calls it. Yes, they have skiing and snowboarding through July 4th!! Gabe & Val took snowboarding lessons on Wednesday and gave Scott his lesson on Thursday. Scott's not really into snowboarding. The beginner's slopes were closed, so the kids had to go down the intermediate slopes, which the instructors says beginners usually don't get on until after the 3rd lesson! Our kids only had one lesson, we were really proud!! The pictures were taken from a little too far away, but you can get an idea! The slopes were a lot steeper & higher than these pictures show!

We all had a wonderful time -- the only boredom anyone felt was at night time, when there wasn't really anything to do in Breckenridge. So good thing our condo had cable and the History Channel!!

Once again, we left Breckenridge for Home on Friday morning again at 3:30 a.m. and arrived in Fort Worth at 6:00 p.m., totally exhausted!
